Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital (CRH) was one of four local organizations honored during the 16th annual Santa Barbara Mayor’s Award ceremony by Mayor Cathy Murillo on Thursday, October 28, 2021. They were recognized for their outstanding support of people with disabilities.
CRH, along with the CRH Foundation, received the 2021 Design/Accessibility Award. Medical Director Dr. Sharon Basham and Ari Dejong, Vice President of Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital, accepted the award on behalf of CRH.
Serving the Central Coast Community for Over 60 Years
CRH has been providing an array of medical and rehabilitative services to members of the Central Coast disabled community for over 60 years. The organization empowers people with disabilities to optimize their quality of life. They are noted for their adaptive sports and recreation programs, which enhance the lives of over 700 local community members.
CRH has improved access for thousands of people with disabilities by providing comprehensive inpatient and outpatient medical services to those with chronic pain, brain and spinal cord injuries, stroke and stroke-related disorders, musculoskeletal dysfunction, and other neurological and complex orthopedic conditions.
The 38-bed hospital offers an impressive range of inpatient services, including case management, nutritional services, physical therapy, speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, and rehabilitative nursing.
CRH is accredited in Brain Injury Specialty Programs, Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation Programs, and Stroke Specialty Programs by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitative Facilities (CARF).
The CRH Foundation
In 2007, the Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation was founded to support the CRH. You can make a tax-deductible donation to this worthy organization that assists the CRH in their mission to bring hope and care to people who have undergone challenges such as strokes, amputations, and brain and spinal cord injuries. Renée Nordstrand serves as Chair of the CRH Foundation Board.
